John Huamani (Lima, 1993) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the National School of Fine Arts of Peru. His work reflects on the hegemonic practices within the socio-economic policies applied in Peru, using diverse media such as painting, sculpture, and installation. His practice engages with themes such as the exploitation and circulation of natural and human resources, and their relationship to the fantasy of progress. At the same time, it seeks to establish affective connections by confronting the imaginaries associated with the contemporary economic model with the lived experience of inhabiting space and architecture.
